Medical House
Baron EwanAshford,
I understand you are a good friend of our
family and my wife assures me of a relation to my step-son and should anything
ever be so dire, that I could beg aid. It is with heavy heart that I need to do
so now and send my son, Joseph Clelland, to you for his protection. There is
great unrest here in the colony, rioting and worse. Joseph is deaf and mute
from a childhood incident, but he reads and writes well. He will be dutiful and
helpful.
My sincerest gratitude in my last days
holding this estate,
Lord
John Clelland and Lady Mary (Eldon) Clelland
